The New Saints FC continued their pre-season preparations with a behind-closed-doors friendly against Linfield at Windsor Park, Northern Ireland's national stadium. The match was an evenly matched start, but it was The New Saints who took the lead with 15 minutes on the clock courtesy of Ryan Brobbel. Louis Phillips and Dan Williams had further chances to increase the TNS advantage as the first-half wore on, but neither man could find a way past the goalkeeper. Seven minutes before the break though, the former Swansea City midfielder tried his luck again from just outside the penalty area, and on that occasion, his strike found the bottom corner to make the score 2-0. Following the restart, Harrison's side continued to fashion chances, and were it not for some last-ditch defending from the hosts, Amaride Oteh could've grabbed his side's third. But with 68 minutes on the clock, the JD Cymru Premier champions did increase their advantage when an effort from Jack Nadin took a wicked deflection and wrong-footed the goalkeeper. Fifteen minutes from time, Linfield almost pulled a goal back, but some important defending from Ryan Astles saw the number five clear the ball off the line. Just moments later, new signing Ben Wilson thought he'd extended his side's lead further when he found the back of the net, but the assistant referee raised the flag to signal an offside. David Healy's side did score a late consolation with six minutes to play, however, as Matthew Fitzpatrick volleyed home a free-kick from the right. The scoring wasn’t done there though. After a well-worked move on the edge of the penalty area, Wilson managed to squeeze the ball beneath the goalkeeper to make the score 4-1 and grab his first unofficial goal for the club. The New Saints are next in action against GAP Connah S Quay FC at home on 2026-10-30.
