Josh Lock scored twice as The New Saints thrashed Flint Town United 5-0 at Park Hall on Tuesday night, a result that extends their winning streak to eight games. The victory moves them three points clear at the summit of the Cymru Premier, solidifying their position as the team to beat this season.

Captain Danny Redmond acknowledged the performance, though he felt the margin could have been greater. "We scored quite early on and Flint could have scored themselves, but the lads managed to keep a clean sheet and to go and score five goals," Redmond said. "We're obviously a bit disappointed we could have scored more but we'll take it."

Brad Young opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Lock struck twice, with his second arriving just before half-time. Isaac Jefferies and Ben Wilson added gloss to the scoreline with late goals, the latter assisted by Jordan Williams who also set up Lock's second. The win maintains the Saints' perfect home record and their formidable defensive solidity, having conceded just three goals in nine league games.

The team now sits first in the Premier League with 25 points from nine matches, claiming a goal difference of +21. This form, with eight consecutive wins, sets them up for their next fixture at Park Hall this Saturday, a 5.30pm kick-off against Llandudno.
